Langston Pediatric Therapy

Hello, friends! My name is Katie VanDuzer and I am a physical therapist here at Langston Pediatric Therapy. I graduated in 2008 from Northern Illinois University and received a master's in physical therapy and a minor in spanish. After school, I took a job in my hometown, Ottawa, IL, at Ottawa Regional Hospital. I worked there for two and a half years in the outpatient rehab department. While working there, I was treating a child, and I began speaking with her Occupational Therapist through email. That Occupational Therapist was Laura Langston. As our conversations progressed, she mentioned she had an opening at her clinic, and the rest is history! Currently, I am working here at Langston Pediatric Therapy, and I also do some part-time work at nursing homes around this area. I have a strong orthopedic background. I also have a progressing knowledge base of sensory integration disorders and I try to incorporate sensory play in each treatment session. I have taken continuing education courses to study toe walking, baby exercise, NDT handling, sensory integration, and interactive metronome. If I had to choose a specialty, I'd say I'm most experienced with infants and children with developmental delays, torticollis, and toe walking. However, I welcome any child. My sessions are child-guided and play-based. I strongly encourage family involvement and family education so that we can work together to ensure your child achieves his or her fullest potential.
