Langston Pediatric Therapy

our philosophy

Through play, intrinsic motivation, and parent involvement, we help children improve their gross motor skills to help them reach their developmental milestones. We employ Neuro-Development Treatment (NDT), an advanced therapeutic method of handling and guiding your child to optimize the way they move and function. Throughout each session, we place your child in proper position and guide the way they move to encourage the development of their gross motor skills by improving their core strength, balance, and endurance.

play-based approach

We use a play-based approach to create fun activities that motivate and engage your child to help them reach developmental milestones. Sessions are child-guided, focused on developing movement patterns and strengths, and customized to your child's needs.

For infants, we employ tummy-time to improve their core strength to lift their head and crawl. Toddlers are introduced to climbing, swinging, and maneuvering over uneven ground so they have to negotiate a variety of surfaces.

Our therapists

Our therapists specialize in treating infants and toddlers with developmental delays and Torticollis. We also provide treatment for Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifada, Down Syndrome, coordination disorder, hypotonia, infantial stroke, and genetic disorders. Collaborating with both occupational and speech therapists, we ensure a global approach for your child.

We are also certified through Early Intervention of Illinois, LaSalle and Kendall county, allowing us to provide home sessions for ages 0-3 and create a home environment to help your child reach their developmental milestones.

family oriented

Parents are a part of therapy, taking part in play-based activities with their child, directly interacting and learning what skillset their child needs to reach and how to address these needs at home.

environment

Our therapists partner in play schemes and collaborate with your child to promote our relationship and trust with them. Our non-threatening environment is built for safety, both emotional and physical, to provide an ideal environment for your child to feel at ease. More »

therapeutic use of self

We adapt each session by tuning in to what your child needs that day, incorporating their strengths and interests and giving them choices when appropriate. We also interact and collaborate with colleagues from occupational and speech therapy to provide your child a global approach.
